Happy Thursday! It's a rainy one here in Wilmington but it has not stopped me from having a productive morning. I slept in until 7:15 this morning, walked the pups and pulled out my amazing chef skills to toast up a bagel with some peanut butter for breakfast. I played fetch with the Fitness Pups while chatting on the phone with my dad and brother, arranging our plans for this weekend.
Around 9am, I headed off to the gym for a workout! Oh, how I've missed the gym! I took last week off from lifting and then was unable to go Tuesday so it's been about a week and a half for me. I started off on the elliptical for 15 minutes of cross training, did a light leg workout and some foam roller. I'll tell you what, foam rollers are magical! Specifically when I'm running a lot and my IT bands start to get really tight, that foam roller digs deep into the muscle tissue and really gets things worked out. I was sore when I got up this morning from yesterdays run but after all that rollin', I feel like a brand new woman!
Lunch
Not a great picture but it's an Asian Salad from the club featuring a spring mix, red peppers, mini corns, cucumbers, cashews, wonton chips and a ginger vinaigrette dressing. I also heated up some of my own vegan chicken to get some protein in and two pieces of sushi on the side! I've noticed a lot of my meals being low in protein lately so I'm trying to pick that back up a little. Protein is important for muscle recovery which I will definitely need for all this crazy running I'm doing. Plus, it helps keep me full longer in between meals!
Now I'm off to prepare for a staff meeting at 1, an interview at 2:15, TRX class at 4 and our Juniors Fitness Program at 5:15. Busy evening!
