Good morning friends! :) Happy Saturday. I hope everyone's weekend has gotten off to a fantastic start. The weather is beautiful here this morning so we should have a great Aqua Class today and then Zachary and I are planning to play some tennis this afternoon. There is a fenced in court over at Greenfield Lake park so I'm hoping to bring the Fitness Pups along so they can enjoy the weather as well.
I also talked my parents into letting me buy a nice road bike and a trainer for my apartment. They are nice enough to let me make (slow) payments back to them monthly so eventually it will actually be mine. If you have never heard of a bike trainer, it is a piece of equipment you can put literally anywhere, lock your back wheel of your bike in and ride without actually going anywhere. You can change your resistance as needed to increase/decrease intensity, mimic hills etc. Pretty cool huh?
I also am hoping to join the Cape Fear Cyclists, a local bike club here in Wilmington. They do daily rides as a group and there are a few days a week I could join them. At $10 a year to join, it's a pretty great deal! If you are local, information about this club can be found here. If you aren't local, you should Google "bike clubs in ________" (insert your city) if you are interested. They are actually quite common and a much safer way to ride than alone.
Also on my to-do list this weekend is prepping for a very special someone's birthday....and some yummy chocolate pecan protein cookies will be in the works! Stay tuned!
