Fun in the Sun- Water Workout

Nothing like free Starbucks to start off your day right. Last week, I visited the new Starbucks on Oleander Drive and Independence Blvd here in Wilmington and they gave me a receipt with a survey on it. If you are a Starbucks frequenter you should check out the new location, lots of indoor and outdoor space and a great place to hook your computer up and get some work done with their free wireless. Completion of the survey entitled me to my favorite tall drink-on the house. Just had to bring my receipt back!

Skinny Soy Mocha Frappuccino

The skinny mocha frapp comes with sugarfree syrup (less calories) and skim milk, but to make it vegan, I get soy. This is a great treat for me because I get the milk-chocolately taste that I don't get often now that I can't have milk chocolate. These are delicious. 110 calories and 3 grams of protein. Another great summer drink! Check out other healthier options Starbucks has to offer here.

Speaking of summer, as the heat intensifies it can be pretty grueling to force yourself to walk/run outside. Did you know that deep water running (with a flotation belt) burns 575 calories per hour? Shallow water workouts are great calorie burners as well. Check out this water workout you can do in any body of water between 3.0-4.5 feet. Water workouts are a great way to torch a ton of calories without putting high impact on the joints which allows you to work harder and experience less soreness afterward. Awesome way to cool down and get a great workout at the same time.

Of course, this workout can be done in an indoor pool as well!

How do you like to beat the heat and still stay fit in the hot Summer months?
