Recap from my day off yesterday- After working on my fathers day present all morning, I finally got that completed and mailed out. It was quite the project but I will have to wait to post pictures as my dad is a frequent reader of the blog. Zach's cookies turned out great and after our trip to the gym we walked the loop around Wrightsville Beach before heading out to Garner. The loop is 2.45 miles long so it took us about 45 minutes to walk. There are also drop-in basketball, tennis and sand volleyball courts there, so lots of options for us fitties, not to mention all of the water sports you can get into!
That was followed by opening some presents, cookie eating and Ruby Tuesday's with Zachary's parents. It was fun, I think Zach had a great birthday.
A Better Way to Shop for Produce
With all of the fruits and vegetables I have been eating since becoming vegan, my mom has been getting on me about price matching at Walmart. Did you know that they will match any current price of the same product? All you have to do is go to the register and tell them "avocados are on sale for 25 cents at Harris Teeter right now" and they will match the price for you! How great is that? So here's the best way to do it!
1. Collect your weekly ads in the morning paper. Ours come on Wednesday mornings.
2. Look through each add and find the best prices on foods you are interested in.
3. Create your shopping list so that you have something to refer to when you get in line. I downloaded this printable one here. Make sure to include the following:
- Product
- Size/quantity
- What store is it on sale at?
- Price
This is great not only because it saves money, but it will also save you time if you can get all your produce at one store!
Do you use the price matching system at Walmart? How do you save money on your grocery bill?
Bravo smart shopper. Way to spend your hard earned money wisely. I do save a lot price matching not to mention the gas I save shopping at one store instead of all over to get the best deals. Don't forget your coupons if you have any as Walmart takes them also.
