Thursdays always get me super excited as the weekend approaches and everyone I interact with seems to be in a cheery mood! I also like this day of the week in particular for a few specific reasons. I don't have to be at work early to prep for morning class so I get extra time for my own workout at the gym. Secondly, I teach TRX class here at Porters Neck Country Club Sports Center which I just so happen to love at the moment. It really is a blessing to make a living helping other people get more out of their life through fitness.
(Come join us at 4pm!) I recently obtained my TRX Qualification (they don't do certifications) and have really enjoyed getting creative and putting together workouts, as well as incorporating it into my personal fitness routine.

And the third reason I enjoy Thursdays....it's sand volleyball day! Although volleyball isn't exactly my sport, I enjoy playing on a 4-man team every Thursday at this fun little restaurant/bar called Capt'n Bills Backyard Grill here in Wilmington. It features 10 or so sand volleyball courts in the back where people play in tournaments or just drop-in for some fun in the warm weather. There are several outside bars located right next to the court for those who wish to have a beer (or five) while they play and the waitresses will come right up to your court to serve you. Not only that, but when it's cold/rainy, the seats at the bar are heated! Gotta love that.

Playing on a team or just playing some pick-up sport of any kind is a great way to mix up your fitness routine and burn some extra calories while still having fun. It can even be really good bonding time with friends and family, something active that everyone will enjoy.
