Morning Cup of Joe- The Healthy Way

I don't know about you all, but I got to sleep thinking about my morning coffee. Although I know it would be very smart to drink black coffee with a little bit of Stevia in it to keep my budget and waistline in check, I just can't do it. I'll eat tofu and tempeh and weird foods like seaweed salad but I can't, for the life of me, gulp down a cup of brewed coffee from my home. So, being the Seattle girl that I am, I have always been an avid Starbuckser. Of the four Starbucks in Wilmington, I have strategically mapped out the very quickest way to any Starbucks on my way to work here at the club.

We all know how dangerous a latte or blended Frappucino loaded with sugar, syrup and whip cream can get. Some of these coffee drinks may as well be milkshakes and contain more calories than one should have in an entire meal. So how do we get our morning java burst and a taste we can bear without all the extra calories? Here's a helpful guide to cutting sugar and calories without forfeiting taste. Almost any coffee shop including Port City Java and Dunkin Donuts offer similar options, you just have to ask.

All of the drinks below are prepared with nonfat milk and no whip cream. Calorie content is based on the Grande (16 oz) size.

You can find other Starbucks drinks under 200 calories here. I got all of my information from Starbucks.com.

How do you like to prepare your coffee to healthify it?
