I was upset to see the newspaper this morning with an article about the +100 animals being kept in a neglecting and abusive home nearby in Pender County. It is absolutely heartbreaking to me to think about animals being abused in a place such as a local animal shelter where they should be kept safe. If you are interested in checking it out, here's the link. It did, however, make me very happy to see that the sheriff's county and humane society dealt with the issue and that the owner is being criminally charged. This article, along with all the rain, wind and lack of sunshine we have been having in Wilmington calls for a cheery post! Which is why I present to you...Things that Made me Smile this Week
1. Support from my Mommy. My mom has been really pushing me lately to reach my goals in nutrition and fitness. She likes to send inspiring text messages and create challenges for me that might be difficult to achieve but things she knows I'm capable of. When it comes to self-image, diet and exercise, she is the one person I feel really gets me! I love her so much.
2. Yoga. Yoga just makes me happy.
3. Spooning with Muffin. Muffin has been SO cuddly lately and I'm lovin' every second of it! Grady has always been a snuggler and usually finds a spot directly next to my head or under the covers cuddled up under my arm at night. Sometimes, he even lets me use him as a pillow which I find very surprising since he is so small, but he likes it! :) Muffin typically sleeps at the end of the bed but lately she has been coming up to spoon with me and it's so adorable. She is the perfect size and oh so cuddly!!!
4. Miley Cyrus. I know she's crazy, but listen to that girls voice. She is truly gifted.
5. Making Plans to Visit Family. My daddy purchased a plane ticket this week for me to go home during Christmas. I am so excited, this is the first year I will be home for not only Christmas but also Thanksgiving, since I was a freshman in college! I can't wait to spend time with my parents, sister and of course, my Grams!
6. New headband. For attending 20 classes, I received a $10 voucher for an item at my Yoga Studio. I chose a bright yellow headband made by Yogi Toes. I love the way it kinda bunches up comfortably to shape to your head and stays in place while I work out. Super cute!
7. Frozen grapes. Or should I say, slightly frozen. I like them thawed out just a little bit, they taste just like candy!
8. Progress Pics. In the fitness world, we use progress pics to display our personal fitness progress or our clients progress and the developments we have made with our physique. Call me weird, but Zachary has been growing a beard this past couple weeks and I have been requesting "progress pics." I normally am not a fan of facial hair but every time I get a picture from him, I can't help but smile. Maybe it's just cause he's so darn cute?
Question of the day:
What's something that has made your days a bit cheerier this week?
Reading my beautiful daughter's blog. It can make my heart smile for an entire week. Funny how powerful our words are. xoxo
