Epic- The Restaurant

Last night for date night, Zachary and I tried out the restaurant Epic here in town. For those of you who live close, it is in the lot directly across from the Mayfaire Harris Teeter. I loved the casual, fun atmosphere and how you get to build your own meal.
You start off by picking your protein. Zach got organic chicken and I chose tofu!

Then you work your way through the menu choosing your side of vegetables, fruit or sweet potato chips. We both got sweet potato chips as they were made fresh there and sounded delicious! Next, you get to choose whether you want a wrap, rice noodles, flat bread or brown rice. After that you pick up to 5 additional toppings ranging from spinach, scallions and peppers to black beans, green apple pickles and roasted beets. Last you choose from several different Epic original sauces.

My tofu and sticky brown rice with vegetables, black beans, caramelized onions, and red peppers topped with Avocado Chile Lime dressing. It was so good and perfectly filling.
Zachary had chicken mixed with several different raw vegetables on a flat bread with sweet potato chips on the side. He thought it was good but wished his portion size had been bigger. (Even though he was full when he was done).

Overall I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a healthy meal. They also had "Epic Creations" that they had put together if you aren't interested in making your own creation. I thought it was cool that they had fresh whole wheat chocolate chip cookies as well, though I didn't have one!

What fresh healthy restaurants have you tried out lately?
