Hi there! Just when I thought my days couldn't get any crazier, it's been a hot, hectic mess up in here. My mom came for the entire week last week which was tons of fun but we stayed super busy with workouts, shopping, and me still working/dog sitting. I haven't been able to keep up with it all, which if you are a reader of this blog, I'm sure you noticed. With my best intentions of getting back on track with you guys, here's this week's Friday finds!
My #1 find for the week-
Organic Black Bean Spaghetti that is a protein! How excited was I to find this at Costco last week? It's a vegan "pasta" with 22.5g of protein per serving and only 15g of carbs- 11 of which are fiber! You cannot beat that! The taste is pretty different from regular pasta but it is definitely a fantastic substitute! We had it twice while my mom visited last week- once with the white balsamic dressing they demo it with at Costco, which we preferred served cold. The second time we had it with a new recipe I will share with you guys tomorrow, a creamy avocado dressing. I absolutey love this stuff, It's very easy to prepare, tastes great hot or cold and cooks in 7-9 minutes!
#2 Here's the White Balsamic Citrus Basil Dressing we used with the noodles. This is also available at Costco and has only 60 calories for 2 tablespoons. Loved this light yet flavorful dressing!
#3 Frosted Sugar Cookie and Pumpkin Pie flavored International Delight Coffee Creamers
I love Fall for quite a few reasons, one being the flavors! Pumpkin and cookies and peppermint are some of my favorites. I was happy to find these in my favorite creamers at the grocery store the other day and purchased both the Frosted Sugar Cookie flavor and the Pumpkin Pie. Yum!
#4 Nautral Balance Vegan Dog Food and Plant Based Treats-
Ever since I started Juice Plus and have been reaping the benefits of more fruits and vegetables in my own diet, I am realizing how much I want everyone I love to live a longer and better quality life. So obviously, I have started adding more plants into the Fitness Pups diets! I started off with a vegan dog food that they are mixing in half and half with their current normal dog food. Funny thing was that I expected them to eat around the vegan food, and what do you know, they did the exact opposite! Grady, who is my pickier eater, actually picks out the old food out of his bowl and puts it on the floor and tries to only eat the vegan stuff! So they actually love it!
I also had them try these Yogurt Crunchers found out Petco, they are vegetarian and contain antioxidants from blueberries. Be careful- when you open this bag, you'll find that they smell good enough to eat yourself!
Other snacks they've been eating lately- carrots, apples and bananas. Although I can't get Grady into the bananas, Muffin loves them. Keep in mind, dogs are not able to have any cruciferous veggies (like kale, cabbage, brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower) and they also can't have grapes or raisins. So be mindful when feeding human food, but choosing plant based dog food and treats has been successful in our family!
The Fitness Pups love their fruits and veggies, just like mama!
Speaking of cute, pups, my next find came along with this little cutie... Meet Lulu!!
#5 For runners and documentary lovers...
My good friend invited me over Wednesday night to watch "Spirit of the Marathon" Anyone who is a runner, or interested in running a marathon, or dating a runner.....this is a very good movie to watch!
Isn't she adorable!?
Have a fantastic Friday!!
