Welcoming August!

For those of you really close to me, you know July 2014 was just NOT my month. So I have to say, I woke up with quite the excitement that it's officially August 1st and July is finally over! Goodbye, I will not miss you! I have nothing but high hopes for the remainder of the year in all aspects of my life. I'm officially in my new apartment, and with all the rain we are going to get this weekend, I will have absolutely no problem devoting the next couple days to organizing my things and soaking in my new bathtub. Did I mention my brand new apartment has an actual tub (my last only had a stand-up shower) with garden jets!? This girl is living in luxury! Now, after races I have a place to take ice baths, yay!

Last night, I signed over my old lease at about 4:30pm, took the last two large items I had left into my new apartment and was asleep by 6pm. I slept straight through the night, waking up to my alarm clock at 6:30am. I think I was a bit exhausted to say the least. I do remember having a dream that the Fitness Pups got out of bed to do their business on the brand new carpet, but thankfully that was a nightmare that did not come true!

Has anyone set any Fitness/Healthy Living goals for August? I plan to continue to be diligent about logging my calories in My Fitness Pal, get my three runs in per week and continue to work hard in my marathon preparation. My new apartment complex has a mini gym that's a bit different than the one at my previous place, so I'm excited to check that out! I ran on the treadmill Wednesday morning but I haven't gotten a chance to use anything else just yet. This weekend I will definitely get in there a couple times!

In attempts to get things as back to normal as possible...here's some of my Favorite Friday Finds for you guys this week!

Pure Barre Workout Kit

Ya'll know I loved me some Pure Barre for the month that I did it. I got the new student monthly special to try it out and couldn't get enough. Unfortunately, the month to month rate is $150 which is just not within my budget at this point in time. As I am positive a lot of others may feel the same way, I was stoked to find out that you can purchase the at-home kit for just a little more and do as many classes in your very own home as you'd like! The package comes with eight dvd's, the two different bands used in class, and two pure bar balls. At $159.00 it's still pricey, but considering it's essentially the same price as a month of class, in my opinion- it would be totally worth it! You can find other equipment/dvd options here.

What to Watch on Netflix

I randomly came across this little graph when looking for organization tips on Pinterest. If you live in Wilmington, this might come in handy this weekend since more than likely, the weather will keep most of us inside.

Cute Ideas to Display Race Medals/Bibs

Available in many colors on Etsy here.

This is my favorite because you can hang both medals and bibs, and it's also available in so many colors that you can get it to match the room you will hang it in!

Available on Etsy here.

I love this bibfolio! Super cute and easy way to store bibs. Find it here.

I also really liked this one because you can write in your Personal Records (PR) with a dry erase pen and change them as you get better! Bibs can also be hung over top! Find it here.

Some "Weight" Perspective

I think this photo is great! It explains why people with more muscle weigh more and why when someone starts working out, they may gain weight despite the fact that their clothes are fitting looser. A huge reason why it's important not to get wrapped up in the number on the scale. Focus on how your clothes are fitting, especially if you are strength training!

Skinny Cauliflower Tots

Those look sooooo good! Don't you guys think my mom should make these for me when she comes to visit in September? :)

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! Share with us your Fitness/Healthy Living goals for August!
