This morning as I walked the Fitness Pups, I had to put on warm tights, boots and a hoody. Winter is comin' folks! I absolutely LOVE it when the air is just starting to get crisp, the sun is still shining and it gets dark early. This is my favorite time of the year.
I completely embraced the Fall spirit by decorating my office this morning with festive Thanksgiving-ish decorations. One of my favorite things to do after holidays is hit up Target and other fun stores and browse their clearance sections to get decorations, holiday themed baking items etc to use the following year. I am definitely my mother's child. So, the past few days, I've made a few stops at different stores to check out their 50% off Halloween. I found some good stuff, and also grabbed a couple fall items to put out now until Christmas time.
I found a leaf shaped bowl with some cinnamon and vanilla scented potpourri, as well as this cute owl votive holder to put on my desk.
I also grabbed these Halloween lights that are green, purple and orange. They aren't too Halloween-ish or Christmas-y so I went ahead and deemed them Thanksgiving lights! They were $1.75 at Target. Plus, I'll use them again next year with my Halloween stuff.
Then, I put up a new workout of the week for our Fitness Members out on the floor. A Turkey themed workout! Feel free to add in a couple extra rounds if you need a little extra, and as always, modify as necessary to suit your fitness needs.
It's been a super busy day, and I can't wait to get my workout in. After teaching TRX class at 4, I have the first run of week two of my half marathon training this evening followed by a Yin Deep Stretch class. I have been having absolutely horrible shin splints which have never been an issue before. I'm not sure what the deal is, but I have been hydrating and stretching like crazy the past few days. Hopefully, they will ease up a bit. I'm really hoping to get some extra training in this week, as last week was solely focused on my runs. I was worried about overdoing it with my back but I am feeling pretty decent. I didn't do any lifting or yoga last week so I'm going to start incorporating that back in.
Have a fantastic afternoon!
Question of the day:
What do you do to get into the Holiday spirit?
