Simplify Your Space! January Organizational Plan

Are you one of those people who has sworn up and down that 2015 will be the year you get organized? I saw a great idea on another blog that I frequent, in which she designed a plan for January to get things organized in her life to start the New Year off right. Each day had one task that she planned to complete in the hopes of getting more organized by the end of the month. I like this idea as I'm definitely someone who could simplify my work space, and my living spaces like my apartment and car. Since I decided not to make any resolutions, I wrote out a few key items to focus on and then smaller tasks to help me reach those goals were divided up amongst each day. Feel free to give yourself some days off!

Focus Items:

  1. Cleaning out clothes, shoes and accessories to take to Plato's Closet and then donate whatever is left over.
  2. Organizing each portion of my living space including apartment, car and office and donating any items that have gone unused in 2014.
  3. Deep cleaning apartment and car including rug, floors, windows, etc.
  4. Organizing finances, make a goal for saving and calculate out anticipated expenses.
  5. Create a workout routine that has some sort of routine to it, that is easy to stick to and has a wide variety of activities I enjoy.
Since I just saw this idea and decided to make it my own, my calendar will begin today, the first full week in January!

If you're successful with this, you can modify or make changes as you go and use it again in February and all year long. Post it somewhere to be a reminder to yourself and also give yourself a make up day for times when things become chaotic! Life does get in the way sometimes but being organized always helps to minimize the potential chaos. Simplify, simplify, simplify!
